Holy Week & Easter at Golden Ears United
Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday, April 13. We don’t use imported palm branches anymore because of their environmental impact, so please bring some local greenery—ferns, evergreens, or anything from your yard—for our Palm Sunday parade.
On Maundy Thursday, April 17 at 7pm, we’ll gather for a quiet, reflective service that includes foot washing and sharing Communion as we remember the Last Supper.
Good Friday, April 18 at 11am, we’re joining with friends from Inlet, Como Lake, Eagle Ridge, Trinity, and Pitt Meadows United Churches for a shared service at Eagle Ridge United Church (2813 Glen Dr, Coquitlam). It’s a meaningful time to come together as a wider church family. Mary Hampton will be helping to arrange carpooling - please see her in the church hall after worship this week. Those who are singing in the joint choir are asked to be there at 9am.
Then we greet Easter morning with a Sunrise Service at 7am down at Haney Wharf. Bring a chair and dress for the weather—we’ll share in worship, an Easter Egg Hunt, hot chocolate and hot cross buns. After that, we’re back at the church for the 10am Easter Celebration with Communion. Bring a flower or some greenery to help decorate the Cross in our tradition of the Flowering of the Cross.
